The first birthday is the
time for the first dental visit. Waiting
until all the baby teeth have come in is not
necessary and is often too late for children
that are at high risk for early childhood
cavities. Do not wait until your child is in
pain or you notice problems!
Your child's first visit
to our office is the most important one.
This will be the time for us to establish
trust and understanding between the doctors,
your child, our staff, and yourself.

To help our younger patients
become more comfortable with dental
treatment, we can perform a "knee-to-knee"
exam, easing your child's apprehension.
At Villalon Pediatric Dentistry, we must
have the birth parent or legal guardian
present during your child‘s first visit.
All legal guardians must bring legal
documents showing guardianship. If no legal
documentation is provided then we will not
be allowed to see your child.
To save time, we encourage you to print and
complete the New Patient form in advance,
and bring it with you. Please do not sign
this form as we will require that it is
signed in our presence.

We strive to make you and your child feel
comfortable as we welcome you into our
dental family. Once all of the necessary
forms and paperwork are completed, our new
patient coordinator will bring you and your
child into our new patient area. She will
review your child’s medical history and
current dental concerns. One of the doctors
will then conduct a thorough examination and
discuss any necessary treatment and answer
any dental questions.
We will be sure you leave our office
knowledgeable and satisfied that you and
your child have been well cared for by the
doctors and our staff. If you have any
questions at any time, please ask.
To print the form you will need Adobe
Acrobat Reader. If you do not have Adobe
Acrobat, please

to download it for free to your computer.
